Entry-Level Nitrox Diver Course

Course Logo

This is the entry level certification for divers wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox (EANx) as a breathing gas. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for using nitrox mixtures from EAN22 to EAN40 to depths of 130 fsw. Procedures for analyzing the oxygen content of a breathing gas will also be reviewed during the course.

  • As this course is suitable for both Open Water Divers and overhead certified divers, dive gear must be suitable for the environment in which the course is taught. Because oxygen content is 40 percent and less, no specially oxygen cleaned equipment is necessary.
  • Nitrox TankThe Nitrox Diver course requires one day. If certification is obtained through TDI, no dives are required. If through PADI, two dives will be required. Curriculum consists of class sessions, labeling procedures for EANx tanks and an understanding of the process for properly analyzing gas mixtures.

The Nitrox Diver course is easily combined with Cavern or Cave Diver training.

Prerequisites: Open Water Diver certification and a minimum of ten (10) logged dives.

Certifications Available: TDI and PADI.
