North Florida Cave and Technical Diving

Getting Here: General Information

Diver at Grate

Nearly all classes begin at Ginnie Springs. Conveniently located just 15 minutes west of Interstate 75, Ginnie Springs is easily accessible from all major routes entering and exiting Florida.

Ginnie Springs is within a two-hour drive of Orlando, Jacksonville and Tallahassee airports, and just 40 minutes from the nearby Gainesville airport. Rental cars are readily available at all four locations. Most of the area’s other popular dive sites are less than an hour’s drive away.

Also nearby are a number of hotels, motels and bed-and-breakfast establishments in every price range, as well as restaurants, child care and other amenities.

Truck Rental

Ford Ranger

The best deal on car rentals isn’t on a car at all, but rather on a Ford Ranger pickup truck from Budget. The pickup comes with an extended cab and a locking lid over the load bed area. Rental rates are generally less than the smallest economy car — and it is vastly better suited for cave diving. (Pick-up trucks available at Orlando, Tallahassee and Gainesville Budget locations; special rates available only through Budget’s website.)
